A Love of Denim: Gap Edition

Recently, Gap came out with a new and innovative denim collection, called the 'Resolution True Skinny' and the 'Resolution Always Straight' jean. Gap claims these jeans are created with a smart stretch that retains its shape throughout the day, as well as being incredibly soft and body skimming. I was kind of skeptical about this statement because over SO many years I have bought anywhere between high end designer jeans to much more budget-worthy jeans, all with the same outcome: they lose there shape within hours and I am pulling them up all day like a fool. So before I sound too much like a saleswoman, I can tell you this - these jeans actually blew me away.
I LOVE them! And their under $100 price tag.

Here are my favorites, although they all are great!
(And I am a bit biased towards the 'True Skinny' fit although the one straight jeans
I have I love as well!)

1.2.

LOVE a good pair of distressed black skinny jeans! I would totally pair these with a cute light blue button-down and my adorable Jack Rogers sandals for a easy Saturday outfit!

3.4.

These skinny jeans are high waisted and fabulous! I love peplum tops and these jeans are PERFECT for just that! I pair mine with Gap's Peplum tee in grey and killer heels and accessories to match!

5.6.

Skimmer skinny jeans are so great, and adorable, and just happy. I love them and I love these! I paired mine a little less casual, but cute all the same. I found this adorable Ann Taylor Loft top (on SALE!) that I paired with nude heels for a fun and flirty "date day" with my husband. So cute! And they would even look great with my Jack Roger sandals!

7.    8.

These are the straight jeans I purchased and LOVE them! I bought this simple and casual top from Old Navy the other day that I paired with these jeans and some cute espadrilles (and, of course, fun accessories.) I call it my "Lazy Sunday" outfit. Perfect for lounging, running errands,
and playing in the park with my little love.

Oscar Fashion Watch

Okay…I have a confession…I don't watch the Oscars for who wins. I watch for the clothes…is that bad?

I have been having so much fun reading all about the Oscars after watching all the gorgeous dresses…I mean stars…walking down the infamous red carpet. And two of the color schemes that just stood out huge this year were all the red and white! Love it!

So to commensurate on this gorgeous trend I thought I would post a few pieces I've been eyeing ever since watching the Oscars on Sunday night that I think would be perfect to wear now…eh, or maybe in a few weeks when it warms up just a tad…

This Kate Spade number is so adorable! I love lace and to pair it with cute cognac colored shoes and a colorful clutch would be all that you would need to do. So perfect for the Spring & Summer!

Here is another affordable choice for Spring and Summer wearing! Can you tell that I'm totally excited for the warmer weather to get here? And for only $178, this dress would be perfect for a lazy Saturday. You could even pair this dress with casual heels if you wanted to!

And by the way, last weekend was SO much fun in Nashville with the girls! Although I missed my husband and son soooo much… I'll post pictures. I ended up wearing this adorable lace top with my killer leather leggings. Love it! I'll give you all the details soon.

Nordstrom = Sale (& a Nashville Girls Trip)

Nordstrom is having a SALE! Love it!! They have some of the best sales. So, in my book, a sale at Nordstrom equals a girls shopping weekend! Bad news is we don't leave until Saturday, the day before the LAST day of the sale…but the good news is that Nordstrom rocks and they can always ship me my size (if I can't find it there) right to my house from another store…I love them.

And the fun part is we are having a kids-free/husband-free/shopping spree/yummy restaurants/bar hopping weekend! So here's what I'm wearing & (most importantly) what I'm buying!

What I'm Wearing:

1. I just bought these Frye boots that I'm in love with & can't wait to break them in this weekend!

2. I bought this canvas jacket from H&M in green. SO perfect for the chilly/rainy weather we are about to endure.

3. Seven Jeans are amazing! Love them - so comfy and perfect for day or night time wearin'.

4. Michael Kors wedges for night time (with denim of course), which I plan to wear with this cute ivory/leather top from Ann Taylor!

Okay, now for the good part:

What I'm BUYING!

1. Tory Burch - I plan to buy these, these, and this

2. Nordstrom SALE: this, this, and this

It's about time that we shop for Spring & Summer! Finally!

Hope to see you at the SALE!

Welcome to my little blog!

Well…here it goes! My first fashion blog…goodness, this is scary & exciting!

I started blogging years ago to talk about everything from family to design. I LOVE design. I started working almost 15 years ago in fashion and recently stopped to be home with my family. So it was definitely time to start back in fashion in anyway I can.

I have worked in small boutiques, medium chain stores, and big chain stores…Nordstrom being my "top" love job. During fashion school I interned at Nordtrom in Atlanta, so my crush was heavy from the start, and ultimately when I graduated I was offered a job. Such a blessing! It was 2007 and I never looked back. I can tell you this, it is a VERY good company to work for. If you noticed my beginning date at Nordstrom, it was also the very beginning of the recession. It was only maybe a year later that we were really affected by it and Nordstrom did everything in their power to save each of our jobs. Talk about a scary time! But it taught me confidence, HARD work, and resilience.

But sadly I quit to follow my soon-to-be husband to Alabama, where his firm was. It just made sense for us, as hard as it was for me. Alabama is very different than what I am used to (big city girl), but I really love it here! My husband and I have a gorgeous two year old boy and this small city is so safe and family-friendly. Not saying Atlanta or other cities aren't, but it was a blessing to move somewhere unfamiliar to me that was.

Okay…so enough about my back story! Haha! Let's talk FASHION! It's so fitting that this blog is starting right in the height of Fashion Week. And I have been lusting over tomorrow's schedule; Rebecca Minkoff, Nicole Miller, Charlotte Ronson; Monique Lhuillier, August Getty…Friday night will be a definite party show-down.

One thing that I love about this particular NYFW is who designer Carrie Hammer hired to strut down the runway; a girl with Down Syndrome. The first ever model (& actress, might I add) to do this. Her name is Jamie Brewer, who you might know from American Horror Story. Well done, Carrie Hammer! Read the whole story here

Well, I hope you all stay with me through my "green" blog state. I know this blog isn't perfect, but I'm definitely trying! Thank you for reading! And I thought a fun way to end this post is to let you know what I'm lusting over right now. Yum…and so perfect for Valentine's Day!
